Lower Carpark Closed: 14-17 & 20 April
The lower carpark will be closed for asphalt resurfacing from Tuesday 14 - Friday 17, and Monday 20 April. There will be no access through the lower carpark gate during this time. The lower carpark and gate will be open on Saturday 18 - Sunday 19 April.

2025 Event Information

​​Calling all food and garden lovers, our Annual Tomato Plant Sale is back and bigger than ever!

This year's sale features our largest selection yet, with something for every garden or greenhouse.

 What's on offer:

  • Over 70 heirloom tomato varieties – rich in flavour and colour
  • A selection of herbs – including chives and parsley
  • Cool-climate chilli varieties – perfect for adding spice to your harvest
  • Cork oak (Quercus suber) and bunya pine (Araucaria bidwillii) plants – grown from seeds collected from the iconic heritage trees at the Botanical Gardens.
  • Prizes to be won – Raffle tickets will be available at the checkout, with prizes from the Botanical Shop and Bird in Hand.
  • Fundraising Barbecue – Hosted by the Friends of the Botanical Gardens.  

Whether you're a seasoned grower or just getting started, this is the perfect opportunity to stock up on high-quality plants and give your garden a delicious upgrade.

Every purchase directly supports conservation initiatives and exciting new projects at the Botanical Gardens.

Event Information:

To ensure you and other fellow tomato enthusiasts have a smooth and positive experience, we have pulled together some helpful information ahead of your visit to the Gardens this weekend.

  • ​​Gates will open at 11am on both days.
  • The event space can be accessed through the Administration Lawn. Please follow Botanical Gardens staff instructions upon arrival. 
  • Payment by card is preferred but cash will be available. 
  • All tomato plants will be $7 each, with other edible plants available from $5. 

Please bring your own carry bags or boxes to transport your new plants home safely.​
